Glad you're planning to attend HEART UK's AGM. Maybe all we Forum Members should organise a get together when there is a spare half-an-hour in the programme? Anyone else out there planning to go?
Still not sure. If I do, it'll be the Thursday. I can't take ages off work - I already take enough time off going to/from doctors and hospitals and stuff!
I wonder if you might ask a question for me if there is time and opportunity? Recently reading about "slow" or gradual onset heart attacks...interesting paper came out of Ireland.
My question is: What could be the longest period of time between first hint of heart attack symptoms and the event that causes people to seek help? Could it be as long as 48 hours, for example?
I've been perplexed about the sequence of events around my mild heart attack last December. I started out with just some odd sensations around upper sternum which I attributed to gastroesophageal reflux. They continued for two days on-and-off, but when I felt pressure in my jaw I knew I needed to be checked out and went to E.R.
Troponins were positive but relatively very low even at their peak. (I'm 73 y/o female and prior to this had no cardiac concerns.)
