Let's hope lots of people watch that. Thanks for flagging it up. The only problem is that the American system uses a different table to record cholesterol levels. Here in the UK (and in Canada) we use millimoles per litre (mmol/l) but in the USA they use mg/dL (milligrams per decilitre).

So, the equivalent tested levels are :

100 mg/dL ( 2.59 mmol/L)

200 mg/dL ( 5.18 mmol/L)

200 - 239 mg/dL (5.18 - 6.19 mmol/L)

240 mg/dL ( 6.19 mmol/L)

ldl cholesterol

100 - 129 mg/dL (2.59 - 3.34 mmol/L)

130 - 159 mg/dL (3.34 - 4.12 mmol/L)

160 - 189 mg/dL (4.12 - 4.90 mmol/L)

190 mg/dL and above ( 4.90 mmol/L)

Hope that simplifies and not complicates the issues.
