I have wondered about the role of nsnaids/ non steroidal anti-inflamatories in my problems. I am 44 and had a heart attack in Feb and 3 stents fitted in 2 arteries. My cholesterol is and was very, very low, 1.9 bad, 1.2 good. I have no history of heart problems on either side of my family and am very fit, a runner and soccer player. I was, however a smoker, drinker and long term taker of diclofenac for ankylosin spongilitus. Anyone have any ideas about this? Really don't want it to happen again.

Apparently there are warnings of this on the product information but a new review says there may be a higher risk than previously thought.

The literature talks about risks to the elderly (?) that have been known about for years. My GP used to dish them out like smarties and diclofenac is a cheap drug. If you were drinking when taking them that may have increased the adverse effect. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/220...
