This group is increadible! I was diagnosed at5 and am now 40. In that time I've hardly ever met anyone else who had been through the trourma, past and preasent, of what it means to have a brain tumour and all the side effects and life changes that go with it! These people I meet with regularly totally got what I'm talking about in our big, detailed discussions full of 'me too' and 'I thought it was only me!' We get lots of really good advice from each other but it's also a chance to just chat with people who, unlike those you may have met in the past, don't imidiatly judge you, e.g: I've had no friends my own age since primary shool and was bullied in high school. I was very scared of people in colledge as a result and suicidle, but now I'm meeting these lovely people and look forward to doing so each week. I can't wait for the March conference in London, it's always billiant to see everyone there.
Wonderful to hear you have benefitted so much and we are delighted to hear the feedback and encourage others who have had a brain tumour before their 25th birthday to log on to become members and receive our newsletter and support at successscharity.org.uk (contact us button) And the conference is there too and we are having a raffle with some wonderful experiences !
