The Fly ..... and feeling nervous

I have a major op coming up. Its this time next week. A large tumour will be taken off the back of my head.

I've been scared before, but this is taking the biscuit.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I like music so was listening to a a YouTubevideo, showing U2 on their 1993 tour Zoo TV. They played a tune called "the Fly", which is where their singer Bono impersonates a guy in hell phoning the living and passing on all the wisdom he's learned.

I went to this tour, at Wembley, August 11 1993, and was at one point 6 feet from Bono when he sang this tune. The screens showed various random phrases. They were played so fast you could hardly read them. But in the days of YouTube, you can slow it down! These are screen shots taken from a video recording of the concert, with copyright obviously to the excellent U2.

But some are really meaningful.

Phrases seen include

you'll never walk alone

Be gentle with me

This is not a rehearsal

Reject your weakness

A friend is someone who lets you help

But I would attach now how I feel about the way I feel about next procedure, and being scared of it. It just says; "boll***ks"

And then I remember how I will feel when this is done. Another screenshot would say, "Tomorrow belongs to me".

My Tomorrow belongs to me. Bring it on. But this is not a rehearsal. Whatever you do, life passes by so fast Don't waste a minute.

Bet you are relieved you have more tomorrows in store. I gather you need more surgery? Keep your spirits up and stay positive keep rocking. Best wishes Chantale

Yes. Wasn't clear from the paperwork. But this is kind of why it needed to be said. Doctors only know so much ahead of time. Even they have to change plans, and it can be hard on the patient and family, as we found yesterday.

There must be lots of folks finding this, and as I saw on that fly video, well....

you never walk alone! :-)

one thing is reassuring though your sense of humour has not been affected.

My dear friend, Sorry for the late answer! I heard about your procedure, and knowing you a bit here and there I'm sure you're going to beat this! I'm glad you could go to that concert, that's still on my bucket list, haha. Hang tight, brother, and keep me posted on everything. You've got this. My thoughts go with you and I sense you're going to rock it. Think about those guitar heroes you so much admire, they'll guide you along the way!

Best of luck, my man, 'cause you've got the strength already! 🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️
