Hello all

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has sent their messages of condolence to me. This is amazing and helps me to feel less alone with things. I don't seem to be moving forward at all yet and sometimes don't see the point. As gloria gaynor says...I will survive!

You will get there in your own time lell1. Grief is a very personal thing so take your time. Yes you will survive.

Sending gentle hugs to you. 🤗🤗

I'm so glad that's helped a little, lell1. I'd say don't force the pace of grieving. I think society tends to give us a 'grieve by' date and that's not helpful at all. Everyone has their own pace. It's hard living with those sad and hopeless feelings, but just let them have their day and in it's own time, you will start to feel brighter. If you do get stuck at any point, do talk it over with a doctor as it is possible to become clinically depressed and there's no shame in getting help with that. But otherwise, here's to Gloria Gayner! That great song has got me through a lot too! Here's to survival! 👍😃🌈

My friends advised me to take my time back in April after dad died.

Give yourself time to grieve, last year I lost my mum and hardly cried at all, it was expected, now I cry very easily, sometimes over really silly things and sometimes I feel it's the tears I didn't shed last year coming out

Just before and after dad died I was full of anger and resentment and I would snap at any little thing but as time has gone on I have calmed down and feel better now.
