Hi All,

It's been a little while since I did a post. I actually just blipped on Friday and forgot it was Friday once again, so sorry about that. It is nice to have a check-in with everyone before the weekend. And I decided to wait until the bank holiday was over to post this week.

So how did everyone fare over the long weekend? It seemed long to me. My husband was working and I was at home as usual and kept busy, but still the time seemed long.

For those who could go out, the weather was glorious wasn't it? Even if you only have a garden to escape to, it must have been lovely. I would never venture out on a bank holiday Monday for any reason as it always draws the crowds if the weather's good, and definitely I wouldn't do it now, but I wouldn't judge anyone who felt the need to go on an outing, so long as the distancing rules were observed. But as usual, it seems that many people didn't bother about that.

What if you were confined to home through caring? I hope all carers managed a bit of a rest, one way or another. I spoke to my sister, whois carer for her husband and she was quite chipper, having spent some time outside. She has a decent sized garden to sit out in, but a bit blighted at the moment, as her planned new conservatory has been stopped midway by the crisis. She's cheerful about it though, and she and my brother-in-law have still set up a table on what is actually the foundations of the new extension. Apparently, although the roofing can now be obtained, the windows can't, so there they sit in their half-built virtual conservatory, imagining how it might have been. Hopefully it will be ready in time to sit out during autumn when the days get cooler.

Anyway the rest of the week awaits, so I hope it's a good one for you all. Take care and continue to stay safe. ๐Ÿ™

Hi Callendersgal, it is good to catch up and nice to do that after the long weekend. It was pretty quiet here and passed by fairly quickly. We did venture out for a drive on Sunday but didnโ€™t get out of the car. It was too busy for me.

I hope all carers are doing as well as they can be and that your sister and brother in law get to enjoy their conservatory as soon as possible. It sounds really great.

Have a lovely week everyone. Take care and stay safe xxx๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒˆ

Hi sassy59, I just read a response from you saying you'd tried a drive on Sunday. It's probably just as well you stayed in the car. It looked awfully busy out there.

Have a good week yourself and hope you all stay safe and well.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒˆโ˜€๏ธxxx

bank hols tend to play with everyones mind -losing contact of what day it is

in reply to Sara_2611

Hi Sara_2611, I have pondered why the government didn't just scrap the whole idea of public holidays this year. It just seems to have tempted even more people to flout social distancing. I think it would have been nicer to collect up all the days as owed to us, and grant people a longer break when this virus is really on the run and life and travel are easier to achieve. And I agree it just makes it harder to work out what day it is... as if it's not hard enough already....๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
