You need to see a doctor to arrange for tests. There could be many reasons for this and no one can advise you without proper investigation. Good luck
Hi Browb,
Welcome to our supportive Community. I agree with exhaustedwife, that there could be a myriad of reasons that may cause memory loss, and that it is something that you really need to discuss with your doctor and be tested for with a memory assessment.
We all experience memory loss from time to time, this is normal. It's natural to think of worse case scenarios such as dementia or alzheimer's, but memory loss can be associated with other conditions such as CFS/ME or Fibromyalgia, or stress, anxiety/depression, sleep problems, medications etc. It is important not to self-diagnose but get professional medical advice. Hope this helps, and do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
MAS Nurse
Hi Browb, I see that you've just joined this community, so first of all a warm welcome to you. I'd guess you've joined us because you are quite worried about this, and the rule should always be that, if you are worried, take it to a health professional.
We could make all sorts of guesses, starting with "this is perfectly normal", to "oh, welcome to the 'senior moment' club", but the problem is, that's only guessing.
Your worry will go on for as long as you don't really know whether this is just forgetfulness or whether there is something else is going on, so please do go and find out from someone who is trained to help get you a proper diagnosis or to reassure you that it's nothing serious.
Very best wishes for a good outcome, and do come back and let us know how you get on.

Hi, get and see you GP a bit lively, there are ways of improving memory, they could point you in the right direction before it gets out of hand. It's quite normal for oldies to have the problem but not at this age.

Hi Browb, I agree with all the others, its best to go to the doctors. It could be anything even something as minor as a deficiency in one of the vitamins/minerals but left untreated can cause more problems. So please get him to see a doctor to find out the reason and then get the treatment he may need.
All the best to both of you as I know how hard it can be to get a man to see a doctor at times.
