New trial diagnosis today. 30 mcg levothyroxine.

Millions of ongoing symptoms, reaching the end of my tether, I think will be hugely relieved if I have finally got a correct diagnosis.

30 mcg is an odd dose for Levo, are you in the USA ? normally starting dose is 25 or 50mcg.

No, N. Ireland. 30mcg tablets prescribed. Bloods to be redone in 6 weeks.

Lots of GPs don’t understand the value of thyroxine. I went to a specialist in Birmingham (travelled from Cornwall)! He was brilliant, didn’t really want to see blood results, just felt my neck and looked through all my symptoms. He put me on 150mcg and eventually once they’d kicked in I began to feel better. It takes several weeks though, so be patient.

Once I had felt better for several months we reduced it. I’ve been on 100mcg for years now.

Dr Skinner, alas is no longer with us. But my GP continues to monitor my condition.

Hang on in there! There will be better days ahead x

I’ve been diagnosed with under active thyroid and started on 25mg levothyroxine but am currently on 50mg. Still not right. Seeing my consultant in may. Think it can take some time to get to correct dose. Hang on in there,
