Need advice, my left arm has been aching a lot and now my left side has started to hurt on my ribs very near to my left breast. I am a fairly active person but just wondered if it could be anything to with my breasts

Sounds like you have pulled something but go and get it looked at. It's pointless worrying about something that can easily be checked out.

This forum's invaluable for supporting people, but giving advice on ailments we can't see, and aren't qualified to diagnose, wouldn't be wise.

Things like pain in or near the breasts can be really worrying and I think we sometimes want to put off seeing the very person who can help us by looking for reassurance from those who've had something similar. But how similar can that be, without an expert comparing the two things?

So I'd strongly urge you to put your mind at real rest by getting yourself a proper examination by your GP.

Make that appointment today for as soon as you can. If you happen to be asked why you want an appointment, be sure to say that you are worried it could be something serious.

Chances are though that it's going to be something really simple and non life-threatening, but either way it's best to know. At the moment you have two problems instead of one. The pain and the worry.

So promise you'll get yourself examined, and don't forget to let us all know how you get on.
