Good for you Butterfly. Stay strong and you will get through. Nice to have support and be surrounded by love.
Take care xxxx
Hello Butterfly261216, a very warm welcome to you on this forum where I hope you will receive lots of support and advice from our caring members. I am very sorry to read about the very sad loss of your Mum and coming up to Christmas is possibly making your loss even greater. It can take a long time to come to terms with loosing someone we love, and there is never any set time for a person to grieve. So don't think it's been a certain time and you should no longer be missing your Mum, it shows what a nice caring person you are and that you love her dearly. I am sorry too that you are suffering a lot of pain. Perhaps in your next post you may wish to tell us a bit more about your pain, what it is from and how long you have had it. Hopefully some of our members will be able to support you further as you reduce your morphine? and share their experiences with you, many thanks . I am glad that you are reducing your morphine with the help of your GP, as coming off strong drugs too quickly may cause you to feel unwell and also have a lot of pain. And it is nice that you have the support of your husband, but try not to be in pain though and if your pain becomes unmanageable you will need to speak to your doctor about this. It is most often at night that pain seems to be a lot worse. I wonder does any relaxation techniques help or even distracting yourself by listening to some music or reading or even doing crosswords may be of any help to you?
I do hope that in time you will begin to feel a little better and do keep posting here to let us know how you are.....
with kindest regards.......very best wishes to you and take care.......
Hi
Well I’m off morphed almost a year now but we’ve done it. I now take another tablet which my g. P. Put me on gradually. Not sure the name a my husband sorts my tablets out a I’m very forgetful also I’ve got arthritis in my hands/fingers also I’m diabetic as well agrophobic. Since I’ve lost our Mom I’ve hardly lve hardly left the house. Our Mam lived in a flat about four five minutes away in by car. It was my sister who lived near Mam and she would phone each morning to check if Mam needed anything also if there was any incidents my sister would clean up after her plus Mom had Careers calling to wash and dress her also evenings to help her to bed. But during the day she had my sister was her carrer as well as looking after her husband who had a heart operation last year she’s also looked after her granddaughters before they started school. She runs a card business from home too. I wish I’d been able to help her with our Mom but as I’m also disabled e.ct. and now have problems with my breathing as when just after Mam died I had to have my gallbladder taken out in the operation they dislodged my lung which worsened my breathing so now I need to use an inhaler I just feel I ought to have done more when she was alive but things happened. My sister just tells me life goes on so must I.
