I had a mini stroke six years ago, and my mobility and general health have gone rapidly downhill. My husband is amazing, but he's getting on for 80. I worry that he is getting really tired,, and would appeciate extra help, hence the ? Julie

Hi Julesdee2, If you are asking whether your husband can claim Carer's Allowance, please have a look at the pinned post to the right of the screen on Carer's Allowance. There is a link there to the government website with more detailed information. You may also like to have a look at Carers UK. carersuk.org which provides information on carer's rights, what help is available and benefits information. I hope this is helpful to you. Best wishes.

Excuse me for asking but do you have any help with personal hygiene, shopping, cooking or activities of daily living or does your husband manage it all on his own.

Also is he able to get out for some time for his hobbies. I ask not out or curiosity but there are agencies that can help with all of the above. I would welcome any comments from others in similar circumstances?
