If you are on P I P benefits.
Hi NUFC9
Benefit payments are unfortunately not my area of expertise, but I just wanted to wish you a warm welcome to this forum, as I see that you have just joined us. I see you've already been sent a link from Vonnieruth, so I hope that will help to give an answer to your question.
If you put carers Allowance into Google it will bring up lots of information for you. The Gov.uk website usually comes up first.
I wish you and your wife well. Xxxx
Sorry don't know about benefits but wanted to wish you well and encouragement, many years ago I did an introductory course on strokes (as a carer) and I do remember there slogan "there is life after a stroke"
It maybe worth a look on the website/phoning them for help and support when you can
Good luck for a good recovery x

Hi sorry to hear of your problems. Contact the dept of Work & Pensions, they can tell you quickly whether your wife can claim the benefit, you may also be eligible for benefits of some kind maybe PIP.

Hi there! To get carers' allowance, your wife would need to complete the form (yes, another one) which shows that 35 hours minimum are being spent looking after your needs. If your wife works, then the number of hours is the issue. Over 16 and no carers' allowance basically. Or a reduced rate. Once you get past 24 hours it is so reduced it is invisible! But if she works full-time there is no chance! It seems that these 35 hours are the same hours as you would be working! Apparently, weekends and nights don't count! If she can claim carers' allowance, tell her to also apply for income support, although this is means-tested. Are you claiming attendance allowance for yourself?
