Struggling to get a break?

A survey by Carers UK has found 1 in 4 unpaid carers have not had a day off in 5 years. Can you relate to this? How does this make you feel? Hopefully speaking to others in the same position can help, but this is a worrying statistic.

If you rarely have time off (if at all), is this because you don't want to leave your loved one in the care of someone else, or because you don't have any other options available?

In my case it is because I need my caring to be flexible. I don't do things regularly, but sometimes I want to go out for a long day but cannot find anyone to cover on such an irregular basis. I have been out tonight because I had to go, husband was having a bad day and didn't want to leave him but cannot find emergency cover like this anywhere.
