Care for yourself in 2017

New year, new you, so the saying goes. But for those of us who care for a parent or older relative, perhaps there doesn’t seem much prospect of change on the horizon. It can be easy to put yourself last when you are a full- or part-time carer. The person you care for, your family, work – all seem to come first. And while you run just to keep up with everything you have to do, your needs just never seem as important.

Are you planning to make 2017 different? Whether it’s meeting up with other carers for a coffee and a natter, or booking some respite care … tell us what you’re doing to care for yourself in the year ahead.

Best wishes and we hope you have a happy new year,
