A tip for relatives with memory loss.

Hi everyone! It's great to see a community for healthy ageing. I'm a physiotherapist and often see the effects of ageing in my patients. I appreciate how important it is to stay fit and active as you age and also to maintain a good social network around you.

All of my grandparents are in their 80's and remain (on the whole) very healthy. However, in the past few years, I have noticed they do struggle a little more with certain tasks. I notice their memory is getting slightly worse.

My Grandma's memory has recently become a lot worse in the last year, so my Grandpa has put a whiteboard in the kitchen to help remind her of things like the date, the plans for the day and any useful things to remember. It has helped a lot and helped them to keep their independence so I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a relative going through the same thing.

I do often worry about them and what it will mean for their lives if their memory or mobility gets worse. They are all very independent and wouldn't like to have to move out of their homes at all.

Funnily enough, we use this same tactic at home for our children!! It's actually a great idea and might suggest it for my mum. Thanks lou213
