Hello i am 38 yo with no medical background( with G6PD deficiency) Since i was diagnosed with C3 GN (first due to infection on GI ,later the diagnosis changed to C3 GN idiopathic or autoimmune),my amylase serum level start elevate up to 164 U/L, this is with no medical treatment. Now my medical treatment include cellcept 500mg/bid i am taking this for a week now and prednisone 25 mg a day(i start taking prednisone since 19/Apr/2020)and for the first time my serum lipase level were raised up to 75 U/L, i would like to know whether those abnormal results linked to C3GN?

The reply from our Expert Panel is below. I hope this is helpful. Thank you again for your questions and best of luck.
EXPERT PANEL: While we do not have an extensive natural history data set characterizing all of the laboratory abnormalities that occur in C3GN, we are not aware of any association of C3GN with a clinical pancreatitis (the medical term that is often used when the amylase and lipase are elevated). Another cause of this finding is most likely (for instance this may occur after some GI infections). We agree with the current choice of prednisone and Cellcept for the C3GN treatment.
Thank you vary mach for your time and answer .With your permission, i would like to expand my question. Are the elevated amylase and lipase levels indicate there is still an on going GI infection ?( the original GI mess was at list 3 month ago . ). another thing ,the levels of those values are not high enough to be clinically significant , they are just slightly elevated from the beginning of the medical investigation(the last three month).
Thank you for the additional question. Since we do not feel that these findings are associated with your C3G, it is best that you seek the answers to these questions from someone who knows your full medical history. We encourage you to pose these questions to your primary physician.
