Hi my son will be 2 next month and has been diagnosed with BWS since birth. We live in SC and i have applied for SSI and was denied has anyone applied before and were you denied or approved?? Im a single mom and with all the doc visits and therapy sessions this extra income would help with the missed days from work. Thanks!

Hey! I'm in SC too. We didn't apply for SSI but applied for TEFRA and were denied. I'm in the appeal process but I think to be successful, I'd have to get an attorney. Are you using BabyNet? There is also a great support group on Facebook if you are not on it. There are two that are fantasic: Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome and Beckwith Wiedemann Support Group. My daughter is 13 months.
Hi! Im so glad there is another mom near me, yay! lol yes we are using BabyNet and it working great. i will check out the support groups on FB. I didn't know there was any. my son has medicaid so we did not apply for tefra but im hopeing to find out if anyone has been approved for ssi. my son will be turning two next month and was diagnosed at birth.
