I have constant Pulsatile tinnitus since September. Very new to this.

No organic cause was found. I do struggle when it’s quiet.

Can anyone please tell me that it gets better .

GP . Ive had Pulsatile also since September , waiting for result of MRI. They did the MRI because I have it in the right ear only. As well as driving me nuts I find it very worrying waiting for the result. It started after a bad sinus flair up .

do you have nasal allergies? Pulsatile tinnitus is often caused/worsened by allergies and September is one of the worst months for those of us who do have allergies. If you do have nasal allergies my suggestions are the following:

use a good nasal flush two times/day in each nostril

blow your nose gently after the flush

then use a good antihistamine NASAL SPRAY....two sprays in each nostril twice/day.

do the above EVERY day for a couple weeks and see if that makes a difference.

Seriously, it is distressing when you get a bad attack of it, or if it is unrelenting.

I can assure you it gets better in the sense that you will find coping strategies that work for you. I would advise - sleep/rest as much as you can. I believe that even if sleep is impacted, having a rest still helps. Some say cut alcohol, caffeine and salt down but others say this makes little difference

It is often a case of trying out what works for you. Youtube has relaxing music and nature sounds if you find silence difficult. I often have the radio or TV music channel on low and try not to pack too much into my day which helps. xx

HI! I was in the same position as you when I started pulsatile tinnitus 18 months ago. At first It worried me constantly 24/7 but, although the 'noise' is constant, the brain eventually adapts to cope. Personally, I found pillow speakers helpful at night. During the day I have Shokz headphones which play my phone music through my cheekbones! This helps to mask my tinnitus while still being able to have conversations and hear sounds when you are outside (especially traffic coming), Safer than ordinary headphones if you cannot hear other things going on with them clamped over your head. Shokz fit round the back of your head. Keep posting as everyone with T is happy to help.
