Hi All, I was wondering what people's experience with tinnitus is 're using headsets at work. I was going to start using aftershokz bone conduction. Would be grateful for folks experience in this matter. I wonder what people do who can't use headsets of any kind for work?

Hi GouherI use either in the ear or bone conducting headphones a lot a work. It definitely helps with easing my tinnitus and allowing me to concentrate more. It also has the added bonus of drowning out the continuous work environment noise. Depending if I was to be disturb or not depends on which type of headphone I use. I would definitely give it a try, it might be an idea to explain to those nearby or line manage you

I hope it eases work for you

Hiya, many thanks for replying. I am impressed you can use both. I start to sweat when someone mentions headset or earphones. I worry it will make my tinnitus worse. Tried the bone conduction yesterday and panicked a little after as felt my reactive tinnitus came back, but I have been under a lot of stress of late. My work have been good saying I can book a room but it's stressful trying to book a room for all meetings. Hope you have a lovely week and your tinnitus eases soon.

I’m quite lucky that my T isn’t that bad during the day with ambient noise I use headphones at night playing some form of rain or similar noise to aid sleep so thankfully headphones aren’t an issue for me

I hope you manage to ease yours 🤞🏻

Hi Gouher,

I use Aftershokz everyday at work. I have them on now and I wouldn't be without them. They just take the edge off my T and distract me. I can still concentrate on my work and I am still aware of what is happening around me. I have also worn mine at night when my T has been bad and I've struggled to get to sleep.

Definitely worth a try :)

Hiya, thank you for taking the time to reply. I hope you start to feel better soon and glad your MRI went well. I tied them for a short while yesterday but panicked. Will gradually build up usage and see how it goes. I really appreciate you answering as it gives me confidence to carry on trying. On another note, have you heard of Julian Cowen he is very good and n YouTube. He can help to start on the road to recovery x
