This seems to be a new concept of tinnitus treatment based on M.S.K. physiotherapy.

Hi Barbel - Dr Michiels has also written on a number of websites about her research, including our own - tinnitus.org.uk/somatic-som.... She's also going to be a speaker at our annual conference in October this year.
Hi Pat. Can anyone go to the annual conference?
In her video Dr.Michiels talks of training physiotherapists. Do you know if the training is specific to her tinnitus treatment or general physio training.?Do you know of any practice in the U.K. that offers treatment based on her theory?I have been referred to my local M.S.K. physio department who have not heard of Dr. Michiels or her theory.
Chris.
I'm afraid that I don't know of any practitioners who offer treatment based on the models that Dr Michiels proposes - she is published largely in tinnitus and otolaryngology journals which I would guess that physiotherapists wouldn't normally see as part of their continuing personal development.
That isn't to say that this should preclude any physiotherapist from reading her publications and taking them on board, but more that many practitioners may see tinnitus as a symptom which can be improved by treating underlying conditions, rather than the predominant issue which treatment should be attempting to manage.
