My tinnitus gets louder and a higher frequency with jaw and neck movements. I have told this to my doctor and 2 ent’s to no avail. Does anyone else have issues with tinnitus getting louder with these movements? Welcome any suggestions. Thanks. New to this.

if you don’t get a response from the community, put “jaw” into the search box of this page, top right, and search “my communities”. There are some postings there.

Thank you. I will do that. It’s nice to know that you aren’t the only one going through this.

I’m the same. My dentist referred me to the hospital as I have tmj disfunction. When I open my jaw my tinnitus goes really high pitched on the left side. My appointment is in two weeks.

Thank you. I have an appointment with a dentist this week that supposedly specializes in Tmj. I’ll update after. Please do the same. Thanks again and good luck!

I do some stretches and pilates each morning. There are a few exercises that do this to me. I've never bothered about it as when I relax the high frequency T stops and everything's (my) normal again.

Best wishes.

Thank you for your information and the best wishes. I will try the stretching and my son-in-law also suggested yoga. Helps him with his back and neck pain.

About 6 months before covid, I started going to Iyengar yoga classes. It was great, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously, being a newcomer at my age, I often struggled compared to the youngsters and the folks who'd been doing it for years but it was still very enjoyable.

Yes. I have the same. Had my jaw looked at and apparently its not tmj related. It's a mystery

yes. You need to find a good tmj dentist

try botox injections into your jaw muscles ( masseter)

Is this backed up by any research?

there are a number of anecdotal and scientifiv references linking botox and tinnitus, i suggest you do acgoogle search using tiinitus and botox search terms.

I have been a tinnitus sufferer for 40 years and i recently had botox in masseter muscles for bruxism and tmj issues. Since my tinnitus is intermittent nowadays i cannot say for certain it works for me, i will continue with injections and see over time.

Incidentally, i had my botox injections in cancun mexico, its way less expensive there $250.
