Can tinnitus cause agoraphobia I’ve had mine for over 3 years now just getting out a bit last Friday in town by my self panic attack tinnitus never had it so loud had to leave basket on flor in shop do not know I got to the taxi rank the next thing I knew was arriving out side of where I live my tinnitus levels have only just gone donwbut am now afraid to go out again.when it is this bad I just don’t know how much I can take.if it wasn’t for this website where we can share experiences I just don’t know what I would do my agoraphobia mentor has told me to continue writing here and try to help people especially people new to tinnitus I hope I can help people and perhaps they can help me

Hi I know how you feel as it does mean one chooses to avoid ...usually because we have a bad memory..am same ...it’s not panic attacks but avoidance as worry if T will spike ...through CBT you just have to experiment slowly and remember if it spikes it will go down...don’t let it take over u mate ...small steps will help

I am agoraphobic. I haven’t been out the house in months as my last trip into town was a similar experience to yours. You just want to escape, everything becomes a blur from then on. I get ringing in my ears often, and I sometimes find one of my ears just kind of blocks up for a few seconds. I know we need to be strong but maybe just avoid going into the busier places that cause the panic attacks as you don’t want to stress yourself out. Try taking things slow even if it means walking across the road and back.

Yes Tinnitus when it is as bad as some of us suffer causes anxiety,panic attacks and consequently agoraphobia.

I find it painful to socialise most of the time.

I would take Diazepam to help but the effects are only a short term fix.

I would try cannabis if i could find a dealer.
