Do you believe in home remedy? I mean sometimes we get colds and then our throat gets itchy and eventually will lead to cough. Do you have any first aid from that before going to your doctor? Actually, I had an itchy throat last night and I get a cough now. Its hard and its so bad. My throat is really itchy and I am having a dry cough. What should I do first? Should I immediately go to my doctor or try some home remedies first? Any suggestions? Thank you.

If you have any lateral flow tests handy, I'd check if you have Covid. I have bronchiectasis with a cough from the lungs most of the time, but recently caught Covid and the omicron variant can cause a scratchy throaty cough that is hard. It is different to the chesty cough that brings up phlegm. I had both these coughs side by side. If I was you I would be cautious, take your temperature and keep your distance wearing a mask if you need to go out to buy the lateral flows.
I use Throat Calm by Boiron. It is a homeopathic remedy. I will take the tablets when I feel my throat scratchy or really dry from the weather.
A tspn of glycerine or honey coats and soothe the throat.i also gargle as far back as I can
