Definitely worth applying, you have nothing to lose. I have Vasculitis which immediately damaged my lungs and caused 'moderate airflow obstruction'. Before I knew what had happened I was struggling to walk up the road, puffing and panting, whereas I'd been fit and healthy a few days before. Bronchiectasis developed a little later. Then I suffered a vertebral fracture. I would say that it's the breathing difficulties that limit my walking more than the osteoporosis. But silly me, I struggled on for a few years not realising that I qualified for a Blue Badge, until chatting to someone who had one. On the application form they ask how far you can walk and so on, as well as what medical conditions you have. Good luck!
Hi Samye I have bronchiectasis and I also have spondyloleithsis, which is slippage of the lower spine. I have a Blue Badge so I would definitely apply for one. I had a video consultation as we were in covid but had no trouble as I can’t walk far without getting breathless. Good luck 🙂
Hi! I have a blue badge as I can't walk far. (COPD, asthma etc) It's not necessarily the condition you have but how it affects you. I'd apply if you think you would benefit. I find sometimes I'm ok getting to my destination but so glad the car is nearby when I return.
