All of this coughing and mucus in my throat it’s just getting me down don’t go out much people give you funny looks and now I got something else wrong with me don’t know if it is for all the coughing but it is hurting down below got a scan in 6 weeks time i hope so getting depressed.

I've got funny looks from coughing. People thinking it's contagious. You just have to ignore them. Hope the scan goes well.

I try to do a good lung clearance, before I go out in public, but that doesn’t always help. This past weekend, I was in a restaurant. I coughed and blew my nose. The lady sitting behind me, got up and changed tables. Oh well, I just shrug my shoulders. What can you do? You need to go out and get your exercise, as that will help your lungs. Staying in can make you more depressed.

Hi the same thing happened to me in the restaurant but she was so nasty to me and my husband just sat there so I don’t go out to restaurant

I agree that it is an antisocial complaint. However, you really shouldn't let it stop you from going out or doing what you want to do. I tell people that I'm not contagious if I can't escape to cough. Most people are sympathetic. In a restaurant I go to the loo if I can't stop the cough. Anyone in there just has to put up with it! If I go to the theatre or cinema I suck sweets and sit where I can get out easily. It's a condition that won't get better so it has to be managed as best we can.
