Hi a newbie with bronchieciectsis and struggling, I've been a severe brittle asthmatic 52 years and yes it's bad but I'm used to it, bronchieciectsis is a whole new story I'm continuesly ill, on antibiotics every few weeks even had iv antibiotics, this cough is awful I'm just not coping, had a broncoscopy and the amount of mucus I saw was awful. Sorry for the rant x

Hi Cooperhart I too an asthmatic and have bronchiectasis, I have only been diagnosed with bronchiectasis for two years but I think I have had it much longer. Don’t worry about the rant I remember coming on this site and having a rant that nobody understood that I was really ill before I was diagnosed. We are all in the same boat on here so don’t worry that’s what this site is all about letting off steam and finding out if anyone has the same feelings or symptoms. When I was at my worst I got really depressed as you must feel now. The cough is the worst and bringing up mucus which never ends. I find this site so informative and funny at times I go on the British Lung foundation site mostly but am a member of this site also so have the best of both worlds. I am sorry your feeling ill and wish you a speedy recovery. Xx 😊
