I'm 32 and suffer from severe bronchiectasis. like so many others with bronchiectasis I also have chronic sinusitis. Most of my chest infections actually start in my sinuses and nothing seems to help. nasal douching is good but can anyone recommend anything that's good for these sinus infections?

Hi Para, I have suffered with allergies rhinitis and chronic sinusitis most of my life, with nothing giving much relief. When I was diagnosed last year with bronchiectasis my respiratory consultant explained that it was important to deal with the sinusitis and post nasal drip. He suggested doing a nasal/sinus rinse twice a day, and also prescribed a nasal spray - Avamys (Fluticasone Furoate). I have been using the spray each morning for almost six months, and I am delighted with the difference it has made. I can breathe through my nose for the first time in many years, and other sinus symptoms are much improved. It may be worth a try for you. ☺

I think avamys is great too. I also use a course of fluticasone Nasules, (drops) if things get really bad. I have in past had long term Augmentin ( an anti-biotic, when the infection got in the bone). This was diagnosed on a Ct scan. I had use the antibiotics for 10 weeks.

I take flonase nasal spray every night. During the day, my Dr. told me to use a saline nasal spray, very cheap and very effective. Immediately my sinus drainage clears up.
