I'm end stage cirrhosis, no ascites at the moment. My leg pain is unbearable please can someone suggest some pain relief that works? I'm at home and not going back in hospital. I DNR anyway. I've tried everything I can get my hands on to no avail. Help please.

Do you not have any palliative care support? They would be able to help with suitable pain relief.

Hi, my husband also has end stage cirrhosis and he has peripheral neuropathy. The pain in his legs were unbearable, our palliative care team prescribed oramorph, this did help. However when he started to get oedema I would massage his feet and lower legs in an upwards motion and this has provided him with a lot of relief from both the peripheral neuropathy and oedema. I believe it causes relief by moving the fluid out of the lymph glands in his legs.

I hope this helps. A

I hope your not confusing "end stage liver disease" with end of life!End stage liver disease is nothing more than another name for cirrhosis, it has no bearing on the amount of time your going to live.

Your liver has gone through changes and each has a name, end stage is cirrhosis.
