Hi I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in July 2023 and have abstained from alcohol completely, lost 4.5 stone and eat a mainly plant based diet ,plus chicken and salmon.I have recently been told I have Osteoarthritis in my hip and I am looking for advice from anyone who is in a similar situation regards painkillers as my liver specialist told me never take anything stronger than a paracetamol. I am doing exercises to relieve the pain but some days this isn't enough .

I have a similar situation. My diet is like yours but the pain continued. I was finally diagnosed with avascular Necrosis of the right hip. It took 10 months to get medical clearance. Had the hip replacement surgery. Did great and no more pain. Wish you the best. Wayne

I have PBC and osteoarthritis in my hand. My PBc Specialist said I can take Naproxen 500 mg twice a day for pain but need to take Omeprazole 20 mg once a day as well so it helps my stomach. Also you can buy Magnesium gel and rub it directly into the area that hurts. Hope your pain lessens soon
