Liver Stiffness Suddenly Much Higher in 3 Months inspite of Medications, Healthy Lifestyle and Normalization of Blood Markers

I got a fibroscan today after being on the medication and healthy lifestyle regimen and hoping to see improvement.

To my utter horror and shock, the liver stiffness is 74 kpa with the Fibroscan. It was 12.59kpa 3 months back with another non Fibroscan Transient Elastography.

The technician tested 2-3 times to confirm the numbers

I am at loss as to what happened. My metabolic numbers have returned to normal/acceptable with my recent tests.

3 months back they have really bad including elevated liver enzymes. How could my liver stiffness go off the chart in 3 months while under treatment?

My view of the possibilities:

- Rapid worsening of the condition

- Some other inflammation of the liver

- Operator measurement problem

I will meet my Doctor soon. Any clues/pointers will be much appreciated.

A fibroscan cannot tell the difference between inflammation around the liver and fibrotic tissue. So a very very high fibroacan reading can be more indicative of inflammation.

When you say you are having treatment, what treatment are you having? What are your other symptoms? Are you drinking alcohol at all?

Lifelong Teetotaller.

Meds- To control my metabolic markers (BP, Lipids, Blood Sugar), Sarologlitazar, Vitamin for NASH/MASLD.

All the metabolic markers are now normal including Liver Enzymes ( Were not at the first Liver Elastography 3 months back). negative Hepatitis panel

No known liver toxic medicines being taken.

No other major symptoms.I feel much better than i did 3 months back. Able to lose weight, put on muscle, exercise well.

Endoscopy 3 months back should early varices. Seems to be compensated
