Liver information

I was treated for hepatitis c four years ago while incarcerated. The treatment was a success. Before getting treated the state wanted to make sure I was atleast a 7.4 score on the fibrous scan. They won't pay for it unless it's atleast that high. I scored a 12.4 . So anyways here we are four years later. I'm 47 years old. I have been good to my liver these days. I don't drink or indulge in risky behaviors anymore. But here lately four three months or so I have felt terrible. No motivation. No sex drive. No confidence. Low self-esteem. And these things are not me to say the least. I have put on thirty five pounds. I had my blood sent in to be checked out and it came back that I was low in testosterone. My doctor ordered testosterone injections. I'm on my second one. I think my liver caused the testosterone issues. Do my question is this. Can I expect these injections to get me back to my normal sex life and feeling good again?

Have you had any liver monitoring in the years since your Hep C treatment? Your fibroscan result of 12.4 is pretty high on the Fibroscan score chart for Hep C rrRelated liver disease indicating F3/F4 level of fibrosis. I would expect you still to be undergoing regular monitoring and screening for cirrhosis and any changes in the liver.Low testosterone can be liver related and i've no experience to say whether or not your shots will give you back full function in that department. You also mention low motivation, low self-esteem and weight gain and these more mental health type issues could also be playing a role in your lack of libido etc.

Hope you get yourself back on track soon.
