It's almost 3 years exactly since my last post - fibroscan score of 36.6Today's results... 15.8 I am utterly shocked. I was hoping it would "stay the same or improve slightly" but wasn't expecting that.

That’s amazing, well done you and keep it up. What’s changed for you diet wise? Take care.

Thank you!!Honestly, not a huge amount! More change of routine than change of diet, and zero salt! Plenty of water and less sugar in hit drinks πŸ™ƒ

Just shows how important a good diet is, again keep it going πŸ‘

Brilliant Achievement, keep it up.I have only had the 1 fibroscan done 2 years ago and my score was 20.4. I am 2 and half years since being diagnosed with cirrhosis and my 6 months routine scans are showing no concerns and bloods are normal range so I'm happy with that. I think that abstinence of Alcohol and healthy eating and exercising have definitely helped me with my achievements (5 stone weight loss) so I'll keep up with it. My Consultant hasn't mentioned another fibroscan but I would like to see if I have reduced my score just for piece of mind. Anyway enough of myself it's your post so again, Congratulations and keep up the good work.

5 stone?! Oh my word, go You!! That really is amazing. You must be feeling heaps better. It's incredible the difference these things make isn't it. You keep up your good work, I think the way you're feeling is a better indication of how well you're doing, than any test can answer. Hats off to you πŸ’ͺ

Thanks for your reply..I totally agree with you about how I feel is an indication of how I'm doing. It's been a long journey but worth it every single step of the way. Again, well done you and all the very best for the future x

Thank you so much, I really am. I don't really think anyone (in the non liver world πŸ˜†) truly "gets it" but knew you all would x

Very well done guys and many thanks for sharing. I myself am on the same trajectory with similar improvements. I think it is helpful and uplifting to us all to share these good news stories….shows what is possible and helps keep our motivations on track

Thank you X100! I was in two minds as to share or not... I clearly remember looking on here a couple of years ago and feeling so defeated and deflated, I figured someone else in that situation may see the post and make them feel worse. I hope not, and as you say, our positive stories could help give some slight hope of a little bit of improvement 😊 take care, and keep up the good work too πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

Wow thats amazing well Done! Can i ask what changed you made . I had my fibro scan yesterday and i am so scared as my result is 19.5

It is very daunting getting a "score" I hope you have/will have plenty of advice and support from your consultant/medical team? Try not to worry too much, it won't change anything, and follow their advice, and this group is great if there is anything you're unsure of - stay away from Dr Google. X

What a wonderful surprise for you! Congratulations! Is that still considered cirrhosis ?

What a big improvement !

Samqdj4 profile image
Samqdj4 in reply to Greengal314

Thank you! It certainly was a pleasant surprise, so much so the nurse scanned again πŸ˜‚I think it is yes, as far as I'm aware i still have, and prob always will have cirrhosis, just with a better fibro score 🀷 I'm looking forward to hearing from the consultant (for once) to confirm it, but as far as I have read the score can improve but the cirrhosis still be present.

Mine has come down to 13 from 27.Consultants says I will always have cirrhosis and survelance will continue but my livers stable and not going to fail if I continue to treat it with respect.

Not sure if fibroscan is accurate though.

More an indication than an exact measurement.

A few years ago I got a 10 and asked the nurse to repeat the test and then got a 16.

Congratulations to you too πŸŽ‰It's a great feeling reducing the score, after initially feeling that "that's it forever"
