I don't know whether its cirrhosis but my dad has been suffering. They keep on tapping a fluid from him. He has lost weight. But some of the symptoms have cleared recently. He doesn't want us to know . I can't conclude that it cirrhosis. But we have faith that God will heal him.

Dear DMWSQ
We know that you can't be sure about your Dad's condition but if you [are in the UK and] would find it useful to talk things over, our nurse-led helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 (excluding bank holidays)
Best wishes
British Liver Trust
I am not in UK sadly... Is there any other way of help
Hello there and welcome to the forum, it must be difficult seeing your Dad suffer but not knowing (a) what is wrong with him and (b) him not letting you support him with his diagnosis.
If this is ascites due to cirrhosis then it is a symptom of pretty advanced (decompensated) cirrhosis and even if they get him stable the chances are it will only be to a compensated state rather than being fully 'healed'. Ascites (fluid build up) can occur in other health conditions too but it is most common in patients with liver damage.
I take it there is a reason you suspect this is cirrhosis, a key thing in keeping well with this condition is to identify and stop the cause. This is the only way to stop progression/worsening.
No one here can confirm whether your Dad has/hasn't got cirrhosis as we are all just lay people going through our own journeys with liver issues.
The BLT has a page all about cirrhosis and others about living with liver disease and the website is very much worth a browse. britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...
I take it you have tried to discuss things with Dad and offered your support with it all.
It must be difficult.
Katie
