They should now put you on medication to prevent this happening again. Something like cardivello. Most likely they will do another endoscopy in 4-6 weeks time.

If you're struggling with dizziness you should speak to your doctor about taking them at bedtime, helps reduce the impact of the dizziness.

Hang in there! It might just be while your body adjusts to lower blood pressure. There are other options available if you feel they don't suit you. Whatever you do, don't just stop taking them (my husband unfortunately learnt the hard way when he subsequently had a bleed). He also had closer monitoring for a while, lots of endoscopies and lots more banding but hasnt had a bleed since if its any comfort. The meds are a vital part of keeping it all under control 🤗

3 years go I had 2 major bleeds from Osophangeal varices, the second almost cost me my life. I had 4 units of blood and was extremely weak for weeks after. Your body has just gone through an awful experience but it will get better, I assure you. Though I had to have alot of banding during the first 6 months, 2 years on I'm stable and doing OK . I take 6.5 caverdilol in the morning and another 6.5 at night to try to keep the portal vein hypertention under control. Don't push yourself to quickly and do telephone your own GP to ask your questions. They should be able to tell you what the next steps are. As Ewife said you will need regular checks to start with. Rest up and good luck.
