Varices

I have just came home from hospital because bleeding from votming and back side also had to have 5 varices banding a 7 pints of blood just would like to know something my stomach is so swollen and feels so tight they have stop my water tablets untill I go back in 3/4 weeks

Did they release you knowing you were potentially full of fluid? I wouldn't wait and would recontact your specialist as you may need a drain for ascites.

hi could your stomach be swollen and sore from having the camera down? My hurt for days, they also stopped my water tablets but stomach went back down few days later 🤷‍♀️ I wish u well

How long ago was the banding? Just another thought have you been pardon the terminology 'farty' since your procedure? If you haven't been passing wind there is a chance this could be the air they pump into you for the banding that hasn't been released and this too needs checking.

I'm 4 years now with fLiver failure and been where you are now.. I have no bleeds and have had many drains. Just follow the doctors advice but I would definitely find out if you need more drains. I have no ascites now and loving life. Just do what the docs say mate. Good luck .

Yes. Still do but now so small don't need them. I died 3 yrs ago I icu because of the bleeds. I haven't had a drink I 4 yrsrs now. It can be do e mate

I've no idea what it involves as it's not been explained to me I don't know what to expect I was not told I was having it done it was in a letter I haven't had a bleed I'm aware of but I've had a ct scan that showed portal hypertension ps thanks for replying

Still feel swollen and breathing going g up stairs seen my own GP he has started me on 50mg of water tablets to seen if it helps its not really.going to see my Liver Dr on Thursday and also had my date for the tube down my thoart for the 31st December. Do you think if the drain me I might feel better.
