Can anyone tell me if they get right quadrant pain? My consultant told me to lose weight and I have already lost 2 stone he has said he can tell massively, he told me I had nafld and losing weight will help, but I still have the pain and my bones are starting to ache, my rib cage, pelvis and shoulder blades, I also feel really full when I eat and suffer with so much gas. I am due to see him again soon, so will ask questions, in the meantime can anyone shred any light on the above..

Firstly congratulations on losing weight, it is a good idea to eat a healthy sustainable diet to build a foundation diet you can live by on a daily basis, instead of a fad diet that only temporarily loses weight and cannot be sustained.

Basically you need to gradually cut out all he unhealthy foods and eat a healthy diet with reduced portions. This way you can gradually lose weight the healthy way.

I find it is best not to eat automatically or by multitasking, but pay attention when eating savor the food and always ask yourself are you eating because you are hungry or out of greed, craving or pleasure, if the latter try to delay eating, this will make it easier to cut out the temptations in your diet.

This way you can gradually resist the temptation to eat and you can try pushing the urge to eat junk food back a bit, this helps resist temptation. For example if I eat food while reading or watching a movie, before I know it the food is gone and I am still hungry.

Generally a dietician can help you find a balanced diet, identify food that is good for you, nutritious, while reducing salt, reducing cholesterol, sugars, cutting out harmful foods like soda, aspartame etc. (couple of weeks ago I was in the LC and there was someone tyring to lose weight while drinking a 2 litre bottle of soda)

Yes right quadrant pain is not unusual though it is not unique to nafld, perhaps some more info is useful to the people responding in the group. It goes without saying best advice is from trained medical professionals, we can only speak from our own personal experiences.

Sounds a bit like Gallstones which can happen after weight loss. I have them and when the gallstones start rumbling it presses on a nerve and you referred pain in your lower back and right shoulder blade.

Hi,

Congrats on your weight loss. I find it near impossible.

My Hepatologist referred me to a weight specialist GP who has me on Ozempic since last week. It's going great and I'm delighted.

Along with F3 and fatty liver I have 3 autoimmune diseases and a connective tissue disorder, high blood pressure, nerve damage etc. I'm in my early 40s and life has been hell for 20+yrs.

The liver diagnoses is very recent and a total kick in the face tbh.

I have literally the exact same symptoms as you. My gall bladder was removed yrs ago. The pain is nothing like gall bladder pain. All of those symptoms for me are due to my liver disease.

What liver diagnoses do you have?

Well done on losing the weight! That is quite a lot to shed. I am 118kg , fat but carry it well. Could do with getting down to 110kg but it’s bloody hard at our age! Good luck with everything 😘
