hi my mum is currently in the hospital again after a few days in excruciating pain they have said it’s a small part of her bowel that has went inside her hernia …mum has had a nasal gastric tube in now she has a very bloated hard tummy … my mum already has NAfld , portal hypertension, enlarged spleen , varices which have been banded , tear in oesophagus which was clipped …. And ascites … now is just passing water from her bowel …and just not wanting to eat anything …any advice appreciated as it’s all so hard and confusing when even the drs are u sure what to do next . Thank you all for any reply’s or support at this time . 🙏🏻❤️

I just said a prayer for your mother. You have to hope for the best, accept the possibilty that it MIGHT (might means - not definitely) end in the worst, and stay strong.

The doctors have seen this all before and will know what to do.

Prayers sent.

Hi love.Quite alot going on there.....I'm sure mum is quite weak.

The gastric tube may only be temporary, until mum gathers momentum, hopefully feels a little better.

I'm assuming its for nutritional needs.

I don't expect they will want to operate on mum will they? To risky a procedure at the moment, with quite serious symptoms.

Are they doing a paracentesis on mum?.

Make sure doctors are keeping you well informed love......they can forget relatives at times.

I don't think anyone can say what the outcome maybe,

But im hoping for a good one love, and mum improves.

Best wishes .

Chris

Hi Chris ,

They certainly do not want to operate as far too risky , gastric tube Inserted to deflate fluid in the stomach ..hope that hernia and bowel go back to the place they should be …they haven’t done paracentesis on mum …and yeah I keep asking everything … from medication , scan etc … thank you 🙏🏻

Oh ok love.....basically making room to allow for everything else to return to its proper place!!I had heard of it...

Well I hope she gets some relief from it....must be so uncomfortable for her.

I wish I could offer more.....

But mum is where she needs to be.

I send my best wishes to you both, and don't feel alone love.

Poor baby. Same thing happened to me 5 weeks ago. I was scheduled for hernia repair on the 28th of July. On the morning of the 27th a portion of my intestines slipped through. Some of the worst pain I’ve ever gone through. My surgeon was able to take me in for emergency surgery. Was able to save the portion of the intestine. Thank God! If I would have gone to ER. They would have sniped it. Colostomy bag and another surgery would have ensued. After surgery, ascites went away and digestive tract improved. Don’t know exactly how that surgery helped and neither does he. Must have moved something around in there. He was able touch and see my liver. Reported some scaring but not extensive. Makes me wander if gastrointestinal dr. miss diagnosed me with cirrhosis. Time will tell. Will be praying for both of you.
