My partner has just been told his colon cancer is inoperable, and that he can't have chemo as he has child b cirrhosis. Is there any treatment available to him ? He is very weak because nobody treating his cirrhosis.
Desperate.

so sorry to hear this. I recently had a cancerous colon polyp removed. I don’t have cirrhosis but I have AIH and was told I would never be able to have chemo as it would be too hard on my liver. I never knew that.
Sorry I can’t give you an answer.
I hope they find him an alternative.
Very sad post. Sadly I cannot give you an answer but would ask the Consultant if there is anything they can do to relieve his symptoms. Thoughts are with you both and your relatives.
Dear 123toyouto,
f you would find it useful to talk things over, our nurse-led helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 (excluding bank holidays)
Best wishes

Gosh I haven’t realised that chemotherapy is unavailable to cirrhosis patients.
Thoughts are with you.
I would expect any treatment would be concentrating on the colon cancer.Symptoms from cirrhosis would wherever possible be dealt with but maybe your going to have to move on to palative care much sooner than you hoped for
