Sorry for the gross title , but my urine was really bad a few months ago due to high levels of bilirubin , has anyone seen any improvement after abstinence from alcohol , as in lighter colour and well being , many thanks .

if you me bilirubin is high then that will show in your pee. It will make it dark in colour. As you remain abstinent your liver function can improve and your wee should become lighter in colour. My partner has ALRLD and was very poorly at the start and was at one time on the transplant list but the longer he is not drinking the better he gets to the point where lots of his liver function blood tests are with in normal range a year and 7 months later
