I had an ultrasound liver scan - as my liver was damaged by taking azaphoprine that treated my ulcerative colitis. After liver biopsy They had diagnosed liver cirrhosis 4 months ago, but now ‘a coarse liver in keeping with chronic liver disease’
What does this mean? Do I still have liver cirrhosis? Can my liver repair itself now i am off the azathoprine?
Many thanks

Chronic liver disease means long standing liver disease and coarse texture means liver isn't smooth as it should be. My hubbies scans always comment on his liver having coarse texture - he has cirrhosis.
Liver can potentially heal to a degree but unlikely that cirrhosis will go away.
Not necessarily - it means there are changes to the livers texture (which should be smooth). Whether that be through fibrosis of any degree - right up to cirrhosis, even fatty change or other nodular issues.
It would require further examination to reveal what is going on.
