I've been asked for repeat blood work and a CT scan to look into this elevated range but I can't tell if it's actually high or still in normal range? 🤔
My last AFP results were ranging at 2.
I don't understand my bloods.
I do have liver problems. Think I've got my bio that says this.
I have Budd Chiari.
Thanks

A teeny bit high but people with known liver disease (without liver cancer) can still return slightly high AFP so long as it's under 500 normally not of much concern though it sounds right that doctor is planning a scan. Better to check than potentially miss something.
Generally, normal levels of AFP are below 10 ng/ml.
People with various types of acute and chronic liver diseases without documentable liver cancer can have mild or even moderate elevations of AFP, though usually less than 500 ng/ml.
