Toenail fungus

I have an appointment on the 31st , meanwhile I noticed toenail fungus on the two big toes, googled it and it’s saying toenail fungus only comes with end stage liver disease, however I read an article when someone with just fatty liver had it too, google has really caused me a lot of anxiety but I can’t help it when I see something new and my appointment date isn’t here yet, I have no symptoms of cirrhosis but I do have dull abdominal pains that still comes and goes , the very yellow urine when I stress or exercise... really looking forward appointment so I can know what’s going on, it’s funny how I don’t even know what’s wrong yet and I already feel so anxious and depressed sometimes cuz I’m worried about what it might be

Hi Zeus, toe nail fungus is common even in the perfectly healthy population. You can get treatments off the shelf in Tesco its that common 😆.Its in no way an indicator of any form of liver disease. Of course those with liver disease can get toe nail fungus like everyone else, but its definitely not an indicator of any stage and most definitely not a recognised indicator for cirrhosis.

Hope that helps.

Wow !! Thanks alot.... The way you have explained this to me has really gave me lots of peace, I know I have health anxiety and google is really killing my joy and making me scared of the future, right at this moment I don’t even have abdominal pain or any cirrhosis symptoms but the spike in my LFT which has reduced since I started using supplements and milk thistle has made me really cautious and I just feel like there’s something I need to catch early, most of the symptoms that scares me like dizziness, fatigue and lack of sleep I came to learn that they also potential symptoms of health anxiety, even pins and needles feelings in the leg which I automatically thought was pheripheral neuropathy due to cirrhosis is also a symptom of health anxiety, I know I will never drink again, I have never binged but I had couple of vodka daily years ago which I have stopped and my head keeps bringing it up that those things are here to ruin my liver , the way you have explained this to really helped me calm and I’m really grateful, although I’m still going to my GP on 31st to rule out the things bothering me, at least then I can have true peace .... thanks God bless you

Hey there, dont panic. If you're feeling a bit low and anxious it's easy to pick up/catch all sorts. Hubbie had decompensated liver disease (now compensated) main cause was his immune system. With taking immune suppressants he caught a lot of odd things including dodgy toe nails. Consultant recommended this and it worked a treat. All natural product ordered online.

I work for a podiatrist. Many many many people have toenail fungus. None of them with any liver or any other kind of disease.
