Hisaw an article about pneumonia jabs, free for over 65 or other conditions.
These include chronic liver disease, on my GP record one of my conditions is listed as cirrhosis NOS even though the hepatologist has since said I am on the 'cusp of cirrhosis', in addition the liver has 'stabilised' with no need to be seen for 3 years, if I had cirrhosis I expect I would be seen every six months.
I will contact my GP and see if I can get a pneumonia jab and let everyone know, personally I am a big fan of vaccines whatever Andrew Bridgen thinks!

Hello fella.I was offered a pneumonia jab 3 month ago at my gps, just after my flu jab. On my medical file, it says I have liver cirrhosis and chronic liver disease. I asked why I had been offered the pneumonia jab,the nurse said it was because I had been hospitalised just over 3 years ago with rsv ,respiratory syncytial virus. I had terrible trouble breathing. Its not offered every year.....
Thank you for your reply, so as I understand it you are listed as chronic liver disease even though you have no other current signs or treatment?Once it is on your record it is on your record which I suppose helps any follow up.
Well liver cirrhosis, is esld. That doesn't go away ,as my consultant told me,in no uncertain terms. So will always be on my medical history. Well I'm on certain medication for my symptoms, and also have fluid on my legs and ankles, even with still walking a few miles aday.Chris
Sorry to hear that, I have no apparent symptoms just fibroscan scores of 9.8 and cap 408, shiny liver, elf score 10.8I did have elevated bloods but that was due to an abcess on my gallbladder which spread to my liver.
Now all treated and bloods normal again. Periodically I frighten my self with Fib 4 algorithms but these are not definitive.
I am living in cirrhosis limbo, diagnosed then undiagnosed, white clay coloured pooh, dark ale coloured wee now all normal.
I used to take photographs to keep a record!
My mental health has been a mess like many others, I would recommend the BLT zoom sessions.
Hello Oscar. As far as I'm aware,if your over 65,you will only have the 1 single pneumonia jab. Otherwise I think you can get a jab every 5 years, for certain underlying health issues...as far as I know.
