Blood pressure medication and itching

From reading my other posts, members may be aware that I have been suffering from all over itching for several weeks, and had a blood test scheduled for today, but which was cancelled until tomorrow due to the nurse having rung in sick.

I’ve been connecting this itching to liver problems so far, but am now wondering if I may have found another possible cause,

I have been taking Amlodipin for high blood pressure for many years, but have just today read a post that suggests it has often been implicated in being the cause of itching.

I have two questions on this, firstly, has anyone suffered itching as a result of use of this medication, and secondly, does anyone know whether it could be possible for a drug to be taken for many years, but to which people then develop an irritation or intolerance?

I've been on amolodipine for years and I get itchy with spots,wake up with a bright red face, but I've had a abnormal liver blood test my gamma gt was nearly 3 times higher than it should have been so I don't know if its the liver or the blood pressure tablets causing it.
