Hello all
Had a follow up after my wife’s recent diagnosis of advanced liver fibrosis and fatty liver.
The consultant basically said that although there is scaring on the liver, that her liver is functionally normally and that there is no need to be worried. He used the analogy of having boiling water put on a hand and the hand still being able to move although having scars.
The MRI has yet been reported on.
He requested more bloods today to check for fatty deposits in the blood and other tests to exhaust all possible causes - He said that there was no evidence of iron overload.
Seeing a 28 year old with this condition still baffles him but he’s hopeful that a cause can be found in the next round for bloods. Next follow up is 6-8 weeks.
I suppose we are now just going to have to go through the motions. She will be having 6 monthly check ups and will remain under the care of this clinic.
Any advice please kindly reply.
