Managed to get my husband to the gp this morning after a battle battle with him not wanting to go.He has been suffering extreme lower back pain for a few months now.
He has been diagnosed with arthritis in his knee some months ago.
Gp has referred him for an urgent x-ray as she suspects inflammation in his lower back.
And she is running more blood tests.
Has any one experienced this?
My poor mum was a drinker. She developed severe pain very simular. She was admitted to hospital with the pain and we were told she had discitis which turned to sepsis. She died within 2 days.
I am so worried now that the same is happening.

my partner suffers from extreme joint pain too , currently shoulder and one toe but has had it in legs elbows etc. he has been tested for gout and they are still investigating the cause. He has one toe very red and swollen. To start with consultant and transplant co ordinator just dismissed as side effect from liver but I think something else is going on so am pushing them to do more tests.
My friend has extreme lower back pain, ongoing for many months now. Diagnosed a couple of weeks ago via an MRI, with 6 broken bones in his back. Having surgery on Monday to fuse L2 and L3. However, I believe those breaks were recent. And his bones have been deteriorating for a while now. Due to osteoporosis from cirrhosis and age. Worth looking into.
