I was originally diagnosed with NAFLD then I was advised I had fibrosis. 18 months ago I was advised my liver looked better and they would discharge me score of 8.2kpa . In July I went for a routine check and again was advised today was the day I wouldn't be discharged. They did my fibro scan and advised they suspected cirrhosis. My scores where stiffness 20.3kpa median 9% cap score 400 valid reading 11 the results suggested for cirrhosis. Has anyone had this or could chat to me. Very new to all of this information. Thank you I'm advance ☺

Of course and try not to panic. My kpa was 70 I'm still here, did they say it was compensated or decompensated cirrhosis.
Hi Tilly
That is a nasty shock. I'm sorry, I'm sure you were hoping for and expecting better news.
As Danny has pointed out, his (and many others here) have been (and still are) much worse so do not stress out too much (especially as, I'm the forums official worrier and my position is not up for re--election yet ).
I'm sure you know that this is very manageable and a score that you can work to lower, with good diet and exercise. If you take a look through some of the other posts, you will see some inspiring success stories. The people here are very friendly, full of tips and good advice... They write from experience, so, they know what you are going through, know what emotions and thought are running through your mind and will hopefully make you feel less anxious and more confident of turning this around.
Either Katie or one of the Trust admins will hopefully post the advice telephone number. It is very important to talk if things are getting too much or you just need someone to talk to.
We are always here on the forum to listen and try to add a little humour to forget our liver problems. We'd like it if you stay, we love to share and read others thoughts.
Thank you. Its been a scary time. I do feel pretty lonely I'm trying to not worry my husband are family as they have taken it pretty serious (pretty normal I assume ) they're normally pretty tough love just not with this. The two app regarding cirrhosis I've been on my own due to covid restrictions so I haven't took all if the information in. The main points 8 seem to have taken is the word high risk of liver cancer and your have the camera. I know all my results and I've lost a stone since July doesn't seem much but I'm proud. I'm just scare and would welcome and conversations with people who are going through or have been through. Thank you again xx
With liver disease there is always a slight increase in the possibility of liver cancer. Most people should get a regular routine check up arranged by their team.
Losing a stone should make you proud, I've lost 8 pounds and I keep yoyoing up and down 2 pounds.
It's normal to be overwhelmed when we first get told and I couldn't even focus my own thoughts let alone listen to the consultant. Luckily people here took me through it step by step and answered all my questions and lowered my anxiety.
It is isolating when we first know, but here on the forum we are all in the same boat and understand, because we have all had that appointment and talk. We know how scary it is and we have all thought about what the implications are.
Just knowing others are here is comforting and seeing people who post their successes here, is a real morale booster and reminds us we too can get better.
Lean on your husband he will be there, some of the loveliest people here are looking after their partners and probably know more than us.
But also come here if you need advice or a chat or just to vent. We understand.
Dave
Hi Tilly228 and welcome to this friendly forum. I can see that others have already posted some lovely words of support but if you are in the UK and you would like to talk, our nurse led helpline is open from Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330. I'll attach a couple of links which you may find useful but I don't want to overwhelm you with information!
