Hi guys

I would think it is important that you do get the vaccine having a long term health condition that still makes you very vulnerable to covid. If in any doubt ask your doctor but I would think the majority of people on here at all stages of liver illness have had their jabs and their booster (and some a third primary dose and further booster).

Thank you Katie. My drs are conflicting...some say have it some say dont. I would like to have it but wasnt sure how my liver would cope with it....But you think most people on here will have it despite poorly functioning liver?
Ubwa is your liver severely damaged though or in liver failure ?
Hi there,My husband has decompensated cirrhosis, he was told his liver is starting to fail.
He has had both vaccinations and his booster.
He had a bit of a reaction to the first vaccination, cold like symptoms, and a sore arm for a couple of days, 2nd no real reaction and his booster he had a sore arm and a headache, apart from that no adverse effects at all.
His consultant did stress it was important not only for him to be vaccinated but also family members that also live in the same household, both myself and daughter are fully vaccinated and I’ve had my booster, daughter can’t have hers just yet as she had Covid beginning of December.
Sons have both had 1st jab and awaiting 2nd one.
That's interesting thanks for your response Lils
I am surprised that all of the doctors want the entire home vaccinated, our liver docs included. Every piece of research I have seen shows that the unvaccinated are of no increased risk to the vaccinated. I got my shot prior my wife, before we knew as much about transmission, to protect her as she is on the transplant list (US). The great thing now is that there is great information out there, so we can all make better personal decisions for ourselves. My wife may get a booster at some point after there is more data on the JJ shot and the booster.
Hi Alibaba80 I asked my liver consultant and he said it is important to have it, so I have and had a bit of a sore arm no more side effects. Good luck 👍.Stay Safe All
