I had a fibroscan today and got 5.0kPa, IQR 12% but a CAP score of 338 dB/m. The latter exceeds the 290 dB/m for S3 however the nurse was not concerned about this. Opinions? Kind Regards Charles

Should I worry about CAP score
If you have that degree of fatty liver then yes you need to take it seriously - if you are a drinker then start to consider whether you need to knock that on the head and give your fatty liver a chance to recover or if your diet and exercise could be improved then look at that too. Fatty liver is reversible but if it continues to be so high the next stage could be big style liver inflammation, fibrosis and worse.

Thanks Katie - my diet is processed prick n pin atm so I will have to knock that on the head. Foods always been a struggle as my medication makes me crave all the wrong fatty and sugary food! I actually used to have a bmi of 40 down to 28. I don't drink as much as some of my relatives but obviously cutting down always helps. I exercise probably walk over 2 miles a day but most of that is the 12 minutes from car park to office (some colleagues talked of charging the 24 minutes to the company!) Cheers
Sounds like you've got some lifestyle stuff you can make improvements on there then and fingers crossed you can turn things round.
Hi just some good advise. Quit the drink now. My first readings was 8 kpa n 320 cap. I ignored it n carried on a further 6 mths. I became very very ill as a result. I mean ill too. Lost my job, my partner, everything, at that reading your heading for it if not careful. Mark my words. U can avoid it if u give it time to repair. Can take several years so you have to be patient with it. Hope this info helps. P s if u carry on n become ill you can be poorly for a long time. Hence why I lost my job. Turn it around while u can. All the best
Good morning Charles listen to your nurse as it is the overall test results which determine the final diagnosis. Try not to worry and do all you can to maintain a healthier lifestyle and your results may improve. Take care Charles we are all routing for you 🙏❤️Dandy Jones
